I am a Qualified, Experienced and Professionally Accredited Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Supervisor.

I hold an M.A. (Dist) in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling and a Certificate (Dist) in Psychodynamic Supervision. In addition, I possess a B.A. from Yale University (Distinction) in Women's Studies, an M.A. (Distinction) in Music Composition, and Certificates in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Hypnotherapy and Mediation.

I have also attended many relevant short professional trainings on issues such as Post-Traumatic Stress, Survivors of Sexual Abuse, Eating Disorders, Substance Abuse, Adult Children of Alcoholics, Domestic Violence, Lesbians and Gay Men, Cross Cultural Counselling, Solution Focussed Therapy and Healing the Child Within. I am committed to my own continuing professional development.

Membership And Accreditation
I am a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor And Psychotherapist and a BACP Accredited Supervisor (individuals and groups). The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy is one of the largest professional bodies for counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK. The BACP ensures that all their members are appropriately trained and qualified. Accredited Members of the BACP have gone through a further process to verify certain levels of clinical experience, a sound theoretical basis to their practice and the ability to use self-awareness in their work with clients; Senior Accredited Members have demonstrated a further six years of practice post-accreditation with a minimum of 1000 post-accreditation hours. I adhere to the BACP's Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and am committed to my continuing professional and personal development. In every element of my work, I strive for the highest level of professional excellence.

I have over 20 years of experience in a variety of settings, including private practice, the NHS, MIND, alcohol and drug recovery work, Adult Education, Employee Assistance schemes, and various Voluntary Agencies including those providing support to people living with HIV and those recovering from the affects of childhood abuse.

I have approximately 10,000 hours of clinical experience and have worked with approximately 1000 individuals from all walks of life, and with a huge variety of presenting issues including:

I studied composition at Yale, Kingston University and the Royal Academy of Music, and am a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, classically trained in piano and flute and self-taught in guitar. My artistic experience includes drama, dance, visual art, poetry and literature and music. I have extensive experience as a songwriter, composer and performer of a wide variety of types music, including for multi-media collaborations and film.
